I know this doesn't sound very exciting, but I promise it's delicious! Roasting anything makes it better, in my opinion. Broccoli gets this nice, almost sweet crunch... we all love it and make this often.
I like to use my Pampered Chef stone for roasting veggies. Just toss broccoli in a bit of olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and pepper, then roast in a 450 degree oven for a good 20 to 30 minutes or so.
You just want it a bit browned with crisp edges. I like mine pretty crisp. We like to sprinkle it with red pepper flakes for some heat, but it's yummy as it is too.
Often the broccoli never makes it to the plate- we stand around the pan and eat it with our fingers. Makes a great healthy snack too.
I'm sure I know why so many people think they don't like broccoli... steamed and mushy= yuck! Try roasted!

This is making me want to roast some broccoli right now. I love roasted broccoli! One of my favorite dinners is roasting broccoli and walnuts together, with olive oil, s&p, and serving it on top of pasta with parmesan cheese on top. YUM.
Ooh, thanks for sharing that idea, sounds wonderful! BTW, I've been completely obsessed with making the roasted garbanzos you posted. We've probably made 4 or 5 cans of them in the last couple weeks! Sooo delicious. My most recent batch I tossed in chili powder, dry mustard and a little sugar. That was my fav. :)
